        <p>Es ist wahr: zwei Briefe von dir haben sich bei mir eingefunden, und du wartest noch immer auf einen von mir. Unterdessen liegen Weihnachten und Neujahr hinter uns und beunruhigen einen nur noch vom Rücken her, während man für 1921, wie du schreibst, allerlei Couloirs, Firnhalden, Gletscherspalten und vielleicht auch einige Abstürze ins Auge faßt. Wir müssen vor allem dafür sorgen, daß das Seil zwischen uns zweien stets gehörig gespannt bleibt. Das ist mein Neujahrswunsch. Unsere Weihnacht verlief in aller Stille. Ich bekam einige gute Bücher: <persName ref="kbga-actors-221">Kierkegaard</persName>, <persName ref="kbga-actors-301">Nietzsche</persName>, <persName ref="kbga-actors-1621">Gotthelf</persName> und <persName ref="kbga-actors-530">Dostojewski</persName>, eine nicht üble geistige Reihe. […] <persName ref="kbga-actors-607">Herpeln</persName> will ich schreiben. Deine <pb xml:id="p461" ed="pga"/> Predigten habe ich alle nochmals gelesen. Vielen Dank für die Sendung.</p>
